Italian Christmas Desserts - Panettone
Christmas is approaching and in Italy we have two main typical desserts: panettone and Pandoro. There is always a fight among those who prefer Panettone and say it’s the best and those who instead consider Pandoro the best. The two desserts aren’t so different and although I’m not a huge fan of any of them, if I had to choose...I’d go for Panettone.
Anyway, this post won’t be about my personal tastes but it wants to briefly explain you what Panettone is. Other posts talking about Pandoro and the unmissable Mascarpone cream will follow. :)
6 Italian dishes...that no one eats in Italy! (2^ part)
After the post with the first 3 fake Italian recipes, here we go with the last 3 dishes that are considered Italian but they are not or that are called with an Italian-sounding name...that has no meaning in Italian. ;)

4-flavour breadsticks
Have you ever tried baking your own breadsticks (or "grissini" as they are called in Italian) at home? Then it's time to start! With this simple recipe you'll be able to surprise your friends & family by offering them delicious home-made grissini! I have made them with 3 different flavours but you can always try them with onion, Parmesan cheese, oregano and much more! =)

Halloween spider-cake with Nutella
So, why shouldn't we party combining the horror element with one of the most delicious and appreciated Italian specialities? :)
Here it is, the Nutella cake...with spider web and Nutella spider included! ^_^
Whole wheat spaghetti with vegetables and tuna
Chocolate salami
That is to ..."chocolate salami", even if it hasn't got anything to do with the real salami, apart from the shape! ;)
Everyone will love its delicious taste and its original presentation!
So...what are you waiting for to prepare it? ;)
Pumpkin and sausage lasagne
Roasted vegetables salad
Today I've prepared a colourful and tasty side sish where, by cooking the vegetables in the oven, you can clearly taste their individual flavour! :)
Crumble with ricotta cheese and chocolate
A delicious cake, always appreciated and surely successful: crumble with ricotta cheese and chocolate! :)
Fruit and yogurt cups
Today we'll prepare a light, fresh and healthy dessert, but still very tasty: yogurt with strawberries, peaches and biscuits! :)
Pink gnocchi
Everyone knows gnocchi, the famous Italian first course made mainly with flour and potatoes.
Here I introduce you to a very special kind of gnocchi, where instead of potatoes and flour we have rootbeet and ricotta cheese! Delicious! :)
Original, colourful and surprisingly tasty the "Pink Gnocchi" are the perfect dish to make your guests go wow! ;)
Tricolour crepes
Today we'll prepare "crespelle", or as they are more commonly known in French "crepes".
According to how hungry you are you can eat them as a starter or as a second course. :)
The recipe I give today you is really light, with no butter or oil, that are not even used when cooking the crepes.
Since "crespelle" can be sweet or salty and you can stuff them as you wish, today I chose a "tricolour stuffing": cheesy cream, tomatoes and rocket! :)
At the end of the recipe you will find a tip for another tasty filling! ;)

Fruit cake (crostata)
"Crostata" is one famous Italian cake that you can find in many versions: the one with jam, with marmelade and the one with cream (the so called "crema pasticcera") and fruit, that I'll introduce today.
The cream has a lemon flavour thanks to the lemon peel, but you can also decide to use vanilla instead. You can choose the fruit you want...I went for kiwis, bananas, oranges and strawberries because of the amazing colour! :)
